Meet Saba Tareen, DMD, MSD
Saba Tareen, DMD, MSD is a board certified pediatric dentist and founder of
Sweet Tooth Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tareen is passionate about upholding the
highest standards in pediatric dentistry while creating a safe and fun environment
for children in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Dr. Tareen grew up in Colleyville, Texas and is dedicated to serving the
community that raised her and helped her discover her natural passion for
children. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at The University
of Texas at Dallas. She continued on to attend Midwestern University College of
Dental Medicine in Illinois, where she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
It was during her dental school training that she discovered her innate bond to
children and became dedicated to making dentistry a positive experience for
children of all ages. Dr. Tareen was fortunate to match to Louisiana State
University Health Sciences Center, where she completed her residency in
Pediatric Dentistry and received her Masters of Science in Dentistry. At LSU, she
received training at top ranked children’s hospitals, such as Ochsner Hospital for
Children and Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. It was at these hospital systems
that she received thorough training in the management of dental trauma and
treating patients with special healthcare needs.
Throughout her training, Dr. Tareen has received several prestigious awards, such as being selected twice to visit Washington, DC and speak to congress to advocate for fair and accessible dental services. She was also awarded the LSU Foundation Scholarship during her residency by demonstrating outstanding academic and clinical excellence in her program. Dr. Tareen has held several leadership positions in the past, such as being elected as president of Colleyville Heritage High School and hand selected by the Office of the President as a Student Ambassador at UT Dallas. She believes these opportunities shaped her into the clinician she is.
After completing her residency training, Dr. Tareen successfully passed both a written examination and oral examination administered by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, an accomplishment achieved by a small percentage of pediatric dentists nationwide. Dr. Tareen is now a proud diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is committed to lifelong learning and maintaining excellence in patient care.
After graduation, Dr. Tareen joined a large group private practice, where she gained tremendous experience in managing patients of all ages and treatment needs. She is dedicated to creating healthy smiles in a safe and enjoyable way, which inspired her to establish her own practice, Sweet Tooth Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tareen’s office offers minimally invasive dentistry, while also providing tools such as nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation and treatment under general anesthesia, because she understands that every child’s needs are different. Dr. Tareen has grown up in a family of physicians, who all have a passion for healthcare and service, which led her and her siblings to pursue careers in medicine and dentistry.
Dr. Tareen was drawn to the field of pediatric dentistry because she believes the specialty allows her to develop lifelong relationships with patients, while helping them establish a dental home that is safe, fun and free of judgement. Her light-hearted personality has been known to help her create strong relationships with her patients, while maintaining honesty and professionalism. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Tareen enjoys spending time with her husband, an internal medicine physician, family, and Golden Retriever, Max, traveling, and enjoying Gymnastics, her beloved childhood sport.
